Counseling for Young Adults & Working Professionals
*I have a limited number of in-person or telehealth appointments for new clients.
Hi, I’m Rachel. As a young professional, I know what it’s like to work hard to get to where you are. People may see you as a well-adjusted young adult, but what they don’t see is the overwhelm that you can feel and the insecurity that comes up as you’re trying to figure things out.
Life has a lot of moving pieces. Where do you live? What kind of work do you want to do? Can you keep up with this work, this life? Do you define this for yourself or others? It can be both exciting and scary, or other times mundane as all get out.
Whatever your story, I want to hear it!
How I help
I am a person-centered therapist, which means I want to center your experience and your story. I want to help you feel seen and heard through your triumphs and struggles and the unvaried parts in between. I’m here to help you find your voice, reassure you that you’re on the right path, or otherwise steer you towards what you’ve been avoiding all this time. I’m a strong believer in community and want to help you build and deepen relationships that matter to you.
Lastly, as someone who strives to be responsible– and held side jobs through school, undergrad, and then grad school– I want to help you find a balance between work and play, so life can be more enjoyable.
What you can bring in
You can bring in whatever life throws at you! As a student; a former high school teacher; and a counselor to college students, parents, and adults– I know well the meandering journey from adolescence to young adulthood. I’ve worked with issues related to depression, anxiety, and stress related to school, work, and relationships. I also have experience working with issues around cultural identity and discrimination.
And let’s not forget about the linger effects of COVID! I understand what it’s like to go through school during the pandemic, the social isolation, the awkward re-entry, and the un-learning and re-learning of certain habits.
I’m here for all of that too.
Flexible school, work, and afternoon hours available for in-person or telehealth appointments
To accommodate college classes, work meetings and after school, I have the following times available:
Mondays - 11am to 5:15pm
Tuesdays - 11am to 5:15pm (virtual appointments only)
Wednesdays - 11am to 5:15pm
Thursdays - 11am to 5:15pm (virtual appointments only)
Fridays - 11am to 5:15pm (virtual appointments only)
I’ve needed to learn to make time for what’s important to me and to seek help when I need it.
Could this be the time to make space for you?

Hi, I'm Bob. It's not easy being a young adult. There's all this pressure to know what you’re going to be when you grow up. Your world is no longer limited to your family, school and friends in a familiar neighborhood. You’ve moved away from home and you’re trying to figure out this relationship thing, pay bills and learn to do the other activities of daily living.
That’s a lot to juggle and you’re not sure if you have what it takes.
The thing is, whether you’re still in school or you're working a demanding job, it’s hard being twenty something. Other people make it look so easy but you don’t understand half of what’s going on. You’re tired, you feel alone and sometimes, you don’t want to get out of bed.
Issues I help with
I work a lot with responsible young adults like you. You don't feel like you're functioning well, but that's because the "adulting" process is putting a toll on you. It is then common for depression and anxiety to trickle into school, work and relationships, and those are the issues I help with. I also have a lot of experience working with people who are neurodiverse, as well as those struggling with drugs and alcohol use.
Where we're going in counseling
I’m going to cite a bit of research cuz I know you can handle it: How you make sense of who you are and what you’re about does not come to a head until you’re in your mid-twenties. If you think you’re a loser, then you’re going to lose. My job is to help you win and focus on what really matters during these prime years of your life.
Can I be that person for you?
After school, work and evening appointments available
Knowing how hectic life can be, I work around busy school and work schedules by offering the following afternoon and evening appointments:
Mondays - 2:30 to 9pm
Tuesdays - 3 to 9pm
Fridays - 1:15 to 9pm
What is it like to work with me?
I'm down-to-earth and you can be honest with me. I'm not here to judge you and you're a not a burden for coming in. Quite the opposite: I can't wait to hear what you've got going on!
Are you grappling with what life is about? Let’s figure this out together.
